Dachshund Mini Dash Registration - Spring Fair 2024

For the third time, Prospect Spring Fair 2024 will be running a paw-some dachsh-ing event for some of our four-legged sausage friends. Within the event's Flyball area, a special Dachshund Mini Dash will be held. The proceedings will feature four heats, a semi-final and a grand final. A prize for the fastest sausage dog will be awarded at the end!

Participant requirements and conditions:

• Two handlers are required for each racing dog, one at the start line and at one at the finish line.

• The Dachshund Mini Dash is a game of recall being held in an enclosed space, along a straight track approximately 15 metres in length with owners bringing their own treats and toys.

• For dachshunds to be considered as an entrant, the dachshund must be friendly, non-aggressive, must know it’s own name and be trained in recall and not be food possessive. Any dogs showing aggression towards other dogs or people will be requested to exit the event and forfeit their position in the dash.

• Dogs must remain on lead at all times, except when racing within the fenced flyball area.

• Owners are asked to bring doggy bags and pick up after their dog.

• Dogs must wear a collar for the race and dogs must be comfortable wearing small bandanas.

• All dogs and entrants participate in this event at their own risk. By agreeing to the terms and conditions of this activity, you indemnify City of Prospect, its employees and/or agents against all actions, costs, claims and expenses whatsoever which may be brought or made against any of them arising out of or in relation to any (Dachshund Mini Dash) activities.

• Participants must be available to attend the event at Broadview Oval / Yarnta Tutu Tarta between 11:30am - 1pm on Saturday 26 October 2024.

• Participants must arrive on time ready to register ahead of the race start. Exact timings will be confirmed with participants closer to the event day and are subject to change.

• Participants must find their own parking on the day event the event.

• Participants agree to have their photo taken on the day of the event and used for promotion of the 2024 event and any future City of Prospect events.

• Participants agree to permit City of Prospect to tag and re-share any social media accounts of their dog(s) submitted via this registration form.

• Spaces are limited to approx. 40 participants on the day. Registration does not guarantee participation. You will be contacted prior to the day to confirm your participation.
