Youth Mental Health First Aid Training

Thank you for your interest in Teen Mental Health First Aid (MHFA)!  Please carefully read the information below prior to completing the registration form.

Course Description:

Youth Mental Health First Aid is an education program that teaches adults (18 years & older) who interact with youth how to recognize the signs and symptoms of common mental health challenges, how to listen nonjudgmentally, to provide reassurance, and to link young people to appropriate professional and self-care resources.  You will learn statistics and facts about mental health disorders that occur among youth, and learn an action plan to assist them in crisis and non-crisis situations including:  trauma, panic-attacks, suicide, non-suicidal self-injury, and substance use disorders. 

Course Completion Requirements:
  1. Complete registration form (below).
  2. Complete 2-hours of independent, online course pre-work. 
  3. Complete Mental Health First Aid Zoom tutorial – even if you ready consider yourself a Zoom expert.  
  4. Attend 3.5-hour, instructor-lead live training. Note:  Those who are registered but do not complete both the 2-hour independent pre-work and Zoom tutorial will not be able to take the live session.
  5. Complete course evaluation.
