Please use this web page to register for the April 21, 2018, Mental Health First Aid course.
You are more likely to encounter someone experiencing an emotional or mental crisis than someone having a heart attack. The Mental Health First Aid course teaches a 5-step action plan to offer initial help to people with the signs and symptoms of a mental illness or crisis, then connect them with the appropriate care. Mental Health First Aid is for anyone.
The course will be held at the
McLean County Health Department
200 W Front St, Bloomington, IL
The course will begin at 8am and end at approximately 5pm. You must stay the entire day to be certified. The Mental Health First Aid Collaborative will provide lunch and all course materials for this training. Participants must be 18 years old or older and live or work in McLean County.
This course is normally $10 per person. It is being offered for free to help celebrate National Mental Health Awareness Month, which is in May. In lieu of payment, participants are encouraged to bring a pre-packaged snack to share. Ideas include whole fruit, granola bars, chips, crackers, cookies, etc.
