Dear Landowner:

Greetings from Chama Peak Land Alliance (CPLA). We hope this letter finds you well, and looking forward to the summer months ahead. We are writing to give you an update on the latest news from our Stewardship Program, to offer you an opportunity to participate in our 2016-2017 Landowner Survey, and invite you to CPLA’s Summer Member Social.

The Chama Peak Land Alliance is a diverse group of conservation-minded landowners committed to embracing and practicing responsible land, water and wildlife stewardship in southern Colorado and northern New Mexico for the benefit of our tri-cultural heritage and for generations to come. Since 2010, we have been assisting landowners by increasing the natural resource values and financial return of their lands through opportunities such as riparian restoration, water conservation, irrigation improvements, forest health treatments, and habitat restoration for fish, birds and a variety of other wildlife.

Enclosed you will find our Spring/Summer Stewardship Brochure detailing some of our current projects. Each of these projects had its start because of an interested landowner. And so, we are writing today to learn about any ideas you have to improve your land and/or if you would like to participate in the next phase of an active project. With landowners’ collective knowledge and interest, we can work with our partners to leverage funding and technical resources for coordinated landscape-scale conservation projects. Your input on the 2016-2017 Landowner Survey (enclosed) is very important for helping us know how we can best support you. You can also find the survey available online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MGZQ7YD. Or if you prefer to talk through the Survey with Emily Olson, CPLA’s Stewardship Coordinator, she can be reached at 970-903-0792 or 1-888-445-7708 ext. #1 and by email at emily.chamapeak@gmail.com.

Lastly, save the date for CPLA’s Summer Member Social scheduled for July 30th from 3-7pm, location to be determined. We will have a brief, but informative presentation from Jeremy Fyke, PhD on climate change in northern NM/southern CO, and plenty of time to socialize with neighbors and friends. Additional details on exact time and location are forthcoming and will be sent out via email in June. Don’t miss it! Be sure to get the latest updates by signing up to receive CPLA’s e-news at http://chamapeak.org/e-news/.

Thank you in advance for your active participation in helping our landscape be the healthiest and most resilient region it can be!

Kindest Regards,

Emily Olson, Stewardship Coordinator                   Monique DiGiorgio, Executive Director
