Welcome to the Hackies Submission Form

Indy Hackers is a non-profit that strives to connect, celebrate and help grow tech people in Indiana. On December 1, 2018, we will host our first ever Hackies Awards to recognize individuals in the community who are great promotors of inclusion, empowerment and diversity.

The 5 Hackies are:

- “Community Member” Award: this award celebrates a person who has exhibited inclusive and welcoming behavior toward new members of the Indiana tech community.
- “Mentor” Award: this award focuses on a person who has shown great mentorship toward less experienced tech people.
- “Teacher & Trainer” Award: this award goes to a person who has been recognized as a teacher/trainer with superior communication skills, patience and willingness to reach out to beginners.
- “Level Up” Award: this award recognizes a person who has significantly up'd their tech skills and/or responsibilities over the past 12 months.
- “Rising Star” Award: this award honors a person who recently joined the Indiana tech community and has demonstrated ability and accomplishments beyond their years.
 
Hackies Awards Main Dates

- Oct. 22 - Start of the Nomination process
- Nov. 12 - End of the Nomination process
- Nov. 19 - Winners are being notified
- Dec. 1 - 2018 Hackies Winners announced at Indy Hackers 8th Holiday Social at Launch Fishers - Fishers, IN.

Rules & Regulations:

- Anyone may submit an application; there is no cost to apply
- You may nominate yourself or someone else
- You may apply for multiple awards; however, applying for the same awards multiple times will not increase the Nominee’s chances of winning
- The Nominee must live in the state of Indiana
- The Nominee must be 10 and older
- Hackies Awards are given for achievement during the previous 12 months
- Award winners will be selected by board members of Indy Hackers
- Association with Indy Hackers is not required and sponsorship has no impact on a nominee’s chances of winning
- Should an application appear to better qualify for a different category than originally submitted, Indy Hackers reserves the right to enter the application into the more suitable category
