CES Spring 2020 Parent Survey We would appreciate a few minutes of your time to learn more about your family's needs. Thanks! Our district leaders are working hard to navigate through these many challenges and daily changes associated with our Covid 19 virus pandemic. They are collaborating with other school districts, the state of California, local and state health officials and county leaders to identify a safe and productive education plan for next year. They have identified 4 progressive committees (Return to School, Learning Reimagined, Budget, Special Services) to help develop a safe and successful plan that will involve flexibility, distance learning and in person learning for the 2020-2021 school year. You can follow the committees' progress by visiting the Plumas Schools Advisory Committee Planning Document available on the Plumas Unified School District website.Although the CDC's guidelines for opening schools look extremely limiting, we will work through these guidelines, use updated information and the stakeholders' expertise listed above to develop a solid plan. Additionally, we have developed this survey for our families to learn more about your needs and perspective so that we can better develop a robust, progressive learning plan for all students. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this process with students' safety and an exceptional educational experience being our priority for our students. We will continue to update our families through email, Facebook and our Aeries communication system as more information becomes available. We appreciate your time to complete this brief 9 question survey. Our family would prefer to continue with distance learning in August for safety purposes at this time. Comments OK Question Title * 4. If we are able to welcome students into schools in August, we may not be able to service all students at the same time and still practice proper social distancing. A couple options are listed below allowing us to serve some students at school (synchronous learning) and providing distance learning assignments for those not at school (asynchronous learning). Please mark the options that may fit with your family's needs the best. Some students attend Monday and Tuesday, while the remaining students attend Thursday and Friday. Some students attend a full week, then the remaining students attend the next week. Some students attend in the morning, while the remaining students attend in the afternoon. I would prefer to continue with distance learning at home with the support of my child's teacher(s). Other format suggestions? OK Question Title * 5. We understand some of our families need daycare options if we are unable to serve students every day. Unfortunately, we are anticipating deep budget cuts for next school year, and do not have any funding or grant opportunities to provide day care options for our families. We may be able to organize a day care option on campus where we would have to charge families and hire a qualified adult to support students throughout the school day. Please mark the most appropriate answer below. Our family does not need any day care support from the school. Our family needs day care support and are able to pay approximately $15-$20/day for a responsible adult to watch our child. Other thoughts or ideas related to day care? OK Question Title * 6. We may be required by local and state health officials to request all students and staff to wear face masks or shields while inside school next year. Please share your thoughts. We understand this may be a requirement, and would be able to comply with our child wearing a face mask or shield. We do not feel comfortable with our child wearing a face mask or shield while at school and would opt for full time distance learning with the support of a teacher if this was a requirement to attend school from the state or health department. Comments, thoughts, suggestions? OK Question Title * 7. We may be required by local and state health officials to screen students at the front door and take their temperature before they enter school.
