Thank you for agreeing to fill out our survey of the needs of East Hartford adults who are 55 years old or older. We are members of the East Hartford Commission on Aging who are appointed by the East Hartford Mayor and Town Council to keep them informed of the needs of our seniors.

There is a newer housing option of accessory apartments called an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) allowed in East Hartford. An ADU is a smaller, independent residential unit located on the same lot as a single-family home. In order to be approved for this, you are required to meet all Planning and Zoning regulations as well as required Building Permits. For more information, contact the East Hartford Department of Inspections and Permits.
