Thanks to all who were able to attend the Fall WSSSC meeting in Walla Walla (and online).  We had a fantastic showing of participants and it was wonderful to catch up with colleagues and enjoy the beautiful Walla Walla campus.
 
As a follow up to our workplan discussion, we developed a proposed revision to our bylaws to include ongoing commitments that we complete annually (such as maintaining our VP mentorship/onboarding model and reviewing our council’s workplans).  While we expect we may have additional revisions to the bylaws, I’m proposing we vote on these amendments and consider any additional amendments at a future date.
 
Per the WSSSC bylaws:
 
ARTICLE IV- AMENDMENTS These bylaws may be amended by a two-thirds (2/3) majority vote of the members present, providing notification has been made at the previous meeting or by written notice sent out at least two weeks prior to the meeting at which the action is to be taken. All amendments will be written out in full for the study of the members.
Motion to approve a change to the WSSSC bylaws including:

* 1. Add a New Article IV and rename the current Article IV as Article V

     Article IV – Professional Development of WSSSC Members
      A. Onboarding for New WSSSC Members
            I. WSSSC Executive Board, in collaboration with SBCTC, will provide an annual onboarding session to new WSSSC members.
            II. WSSSC Executive Board will match new WSSSC members with an experienced WSSSC member for a year long mentoring experience.
        B. Professional Development at Quarterly Meetings
            I. WSSSC Executive Board, in collaboration with SBCTC, will plan quarterly WSSSC meetings that include current topics, guest speakers, and/or agenda topics that meet the professional needs of its diverse members.
