Survey closes June 15th, 2018

The Federal Government has announced their intention to legalize cannabis nationwide in 2018. Land use/zoning is a primary responsibility given to municipal governments in Alberta. The M.D. of Peace No. 135 is actively preparing for the legalization of cannabis and we want to hear from you!

Prior to completing this survey, please read the M.D. of Peace No. 135 FAQ.

* 1. Are you a resident of the M.D. of Peace No. 135?

* 2. How old are you?

* 3. The Province of Alberta has placed 100 metre minimum separation distance restrictions on cannabis retail stores from a school, provincial health care facility, and a parcel of land designated as a school reserve.

Do you think the setback should be increased?

* 4. Should a minimum setback distance also apply to other types of uses?

* 5. Do you think there should be a separation distance requirement between liquor stores and cannabis retail stores?

* 6. Where should a cannabis retail store be located? (Check all that apply)

* 7. Should the municipality set shorter or longer limits on store hours than the AGLC regulations? (the AGLC limits store hours to between 10 am and 2 am)?

* 8. Cannabis legalization will allow for cannabis production and distribution facilities to exist in our region. A production and distribution facility is not a cannabis retail store, but a place where cannabis is cultivated and made available to retailers.

Where should these facilities exist in the M.D.? (Check all that apply)

* 9. Should production and distribution facilities be setback from residential areas or other places where the public and youth gather, such as schools?

* 10. Do you have any additional comments or concerns regarding the M.D. of Peace No. 135's approach to cannabis legalization?
