Operational Team & Board Committee Needs

The following page describes all opportunities available to volunteer within Multicultural Leadership Program, either on an operational committee or a committee of the Board of Directors. As we run of a staff of 1.75 paid employees, volunteers are integral to our operations, and many are our growing alumni. Please consider where you would like to share your skills and experience, and a member of the committee will contact you on next steps after answers are submitted.

* 2. Operational Team Specific Needs (Work with Executive Director)

Learning Event Logistics Team (Monthly meeting, volunteer at key events) - Event Volunteer Recruitment/training, assisting with securing speed networking guests, finding discounted/donated food, poverty simulation volunteer recruitment

Marketing & Technology Team (First Monday of the month, 5-6 p.m.) - Assist with creating marketing materials, brainstorming campaigns and outreach, and assist Development Committee with fundraisers throughout the year

Marketing & Technology Team (First Monday of the month, 5-6 p.m.) - Share advance software skills in marketing program, such as InDesign or others

Marketing & Technology Team (First Monday of the month, 5-6 p.m.) - Provide other specific database/website experience

Community Involvement Team (Meets around 6x/year) - Assist with selecting nonprofit projects, review project proposals, give feedback at project practices, and assist with board networking fair

Community Involvement Team (Meets around 6x/year) - Outreach to community partner projects and contact past partners to track progress

Community Involvement Team - (Sep-Mar) Serve as a Project Advisor

Graduation Committee (Nov - April, 1x/month at first, increasing as graduation approaches) - Committee members to assist with graduation event planning including decor, program, AV, raffle, setup, logistics and ticket sales. Works w/ development on ad sales. (Note: Speaker/theme/awards selected by board execs)

Alumni Involvement (Meets every 2 months for 2 hours, increased time before events) - Networking with community leaders, trainers, and recruiting new learning event leaders. Event planning or training background a plus. Goal is 3-4 alumni learning events per year and additional social events.

Recruitment Team (Meets 1-2x per month from Nov - April) - Works with Executive Director to create a recruitment strategy to promote MCLP to diverse employers, groups, and individuals. Helps with recruitment sessions. Assists in selection and interviews in May/June.

* 3. Board Committee Specific Needs

Development Committee (Meets 1x/month for 1 hour) - Creative thinkers needed to help us reach out to community and generate visibility for MCLP; past experience raising funds is beneficial; precious grant writing and social medial skills also helpful

Finance Committee (Meets 1-2x/year) - Assist with review of financial policies and procedures and budget preparation/review

Finance Committee - Members to assist operationally with Quickbooks Online

Impact Management Team (Meets 1x/month for 1 hours and informally 40 hours/year to assist with collecting and processing survey data from participant/nonprofit partners and participant stories) - Requires good networking and communication skills; Prior experience in quantitative and qualitative metrics and interviewing a plus but not required

Special ad hod (ad needed) committee: 10th Anniversary Year Committee (April 2019 graduation). Volunteers will assist with special events during our 10-year anniversary. Will work with graduation and alumni teams (details not yet determined).
