Nick Timothy MP's Survey: Asylum housing

Dear Constituent,

Asylum seekers – many of whom are illegal immigrants – are being put into housing across our area without residents being informed. This is wrong. My position is clear: anyone entering Britain illegally must be deported immediately – no exceptions, no delays. Housing illegal arrivals, using taxpayer money, is unacceptable. It burdens our communities, diverts resources from British citizens in need, and worsens local housing shortages. New homes should be prioritised for British families and legal arrivals – not illegal immigrants. We must restore border control and redirect the billions wasted on this broken system to the NHS, schools, police, roads and priorities that matter to YOU. I want to hear your thoughts. Please take this short survey below.

Best wishes
Nick Timothy, Member of Parliament for West Suffolk

Question Title

* 1. As of December 2025, over 100,000 people were housed in taxpayer-funded asylum accommodation in England and Wales. Current law requires the taxpayer to provide this support – even for many who entered illegally by small boat and some failed asylum seekers. Do you agree with this policy?

Question Title

* 2. When a constituent recently asked West Suffolk District Council about a local property being used for asylum accommodation, the Council refused to disclose details, citing risks to the safety and mental health of asylum seekers and staff. Do you believe local families have the right to know when asylum housing opens in their neighbourhood?
