Purpose: Substance Use Disorders (SUD), including opioid use disorder, have a disproportionate impact on Indian Country, and can be treated at the primary care level. Current Federal and Indian Health Service policies have supported use of Medications for Addiction Treatment (MAT) as one method of medical intervention for patients with substance use disorders.

A free MAT waiver training co-hosted by Indian Country ECHO and the Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board is being held virtually February 25th from 10am-2:15pm CT. The training is being offered to effectively integrate Opioid Use Disorder and Substance Use Disorder treatment at the primary care level – with a follow up ECHO telehealth collaborative to continue learning, knowledge sharing and support as you start treating.

The training will be led by Dr. Jonathan Robbins, MD, MS, Indian Country SUD ECHO Faculty and Associate Professor of Medicine at Oregon Health Science University and additional Indian Country SUD ECHO faculty.

Who should attend: Physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, nurses, behavioral health specialists, nurses, chemical dependency counselors, peer support specialists, medical assistants, or others interested in learning new skills to effectively integrate SUD and OUD treatment are invited to attend.

Where: The training will be held virtually via Zoom - registered participants will receive a zoom link to connect
