1. Program Description

Museum Ambassadors are high school students currently enrolled in 9th, 10th, or 11th grade that are permanent San Francisco residents. They join the staff of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco and represent the Museums (de Young and Legion of Honor) to the San Franciscan community. This summer the Museum Ambassadors program will focus on objects in the permanent collection. Ambassadors will lead 1-hour art projects and presentations in libraries, summer camps, senior centers, and other community spaces.

Hours and Location: The program will last from June 25 to August 9, 2019. Museum Ambassadors meet at the de Young Museum and work Tuesday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m., and will work a range of 14-16 hours per week. You must be available the whole summer in order to be considered for this position. There is no vacation time allowed, no exceptions. Please do not schedule any appointments during your work hours. Sick days are not paid. Museum Ambassadors are paid $15/hour.
