The Michigan Association of Non-public Schools (MANS) Faith-Based Educator Award is one of five awards that recognize excellence in education in MANS member schools. Award winners demonstrate the very best in faith-based education and are leaders in the field. Educators may be nominated by administrators using the electronic submission below. The extended deadline for 2018 nominations is August 24, 2018.
Nominations are peer reviewed and awardees are recognized at the 2018 MANS Conference and Expo in Grand Rapids, Michigan on October 19, 2018. Award winners are provided complimentary conference registration and lodging in recognition of their achievement.
Other awards include the Fr. Zwers Award Pastor Award, Ivan E. Zylstra Award that recognizes champions of faith-based schools and the new School Administrator’s Award and Office Professional Award.
Faith-Based Educator Award Criteria:
This award recognizes 3-5 educators who:
· Display a passion for students and education;
· Model faith, integrity, compassion and leadership;
· Demonstrate creativity and innovation in the classroom;
· Use data to drive instruction; and
· Are a role model of personal and professional growth.
Nomination Process:
Nomination packages may be submitted by a school administrator who can verify that the nominee meets the expectations outlined in the criteria section. The nominator must also include a narrative describing the nominee's achievements.
Review Process:
Each eligible nomination will be reviewed by a diverse team of educators who will make recommendations to the MANS board of trustees in August. Award winners will notified by August 31, 2018.
