The National Sexual Violence Resource Center, in partnership with the National Alliance to End Sexual Violence, the Victim Rights Law Center, and the National Organization of Sisters of Color Ending Sexual Assault, is conducting a survey of attorneys throughout the country to better understand the public and section 8 housing problems or barriers that attorneys see when working with sexual violence victims and survivors.
For the sake of this survey, we would like to know more about sexual violence that occurs outside of an intimate partner relationship. Therefore, when responding to this survey, please have the following continuum of non-intimate partner sexual violence in mind: rape, sexual assault, incest, child sexual assault, sexual harassment, sexual exploitation, exposure, voyeurism, and any other unwanted sexual contact that occurs outside of an intimate partner relationship.
When answering these questions, please think about the clients you have represented that have experienced both sexual violence and public or section 8 housing issues.
If you are including information about multiple clients, please differentiate between their various experiences throughout your responses by delineating Client 1, Client 2, Client 3, and so on. For example, when responding to a question about multiple cases, include something like, “Client 1 struggled with housing as follows…Client 2 had the following experience…”Please do not include any identifying information about individual clients.
This survey contains 20 questions and should take you approximately 30 minutes to complete. We greatly appreciate your time and insight on the questions that follow. Your responses will help to inform public policy and practices in the housing arena. You may not be able to answer every question, but we appreciate you providing thoughtful answers to the questions that are most relevant to your work with victims and survivors of sexual violence.
Please forward any questions or comments about this survey to Donna Greco, Training and Technical Assistance Supervisor, National Sexual Violence Resource Center, at email@example.com or 1-877-739-3895, ext. 131.
