Description

Support staff from foreign teams may be granted Deck Accreditation Cards at Swimming Canada Designated Competitions provided they are supporting a group of athletes from a team who's coach has been granted Foreign Coach Deck Accreditation for the same competition. Support staff my include physiologist, chiropractor, doctor, massage therapist, biomechanist, psychologist, physiotherapist or team leaders/chaperones.

Swimming Canada requires all foreign support staff (other than members of USA Swimming) to have their FINA Member Federation provide the following documents:

As it relates to the 2016 Olympic & Para-swimming Trials as this is a FINA recognized event:
-       A letter confirming that they are a National Team Support Staff person from the respective FINA Member Federation.
-       A letter from the FINA Member Federation confirming that they are insured for both medical and commercial liability under the Federation, the insurer name and policy number.
-       For VISA purposes, a copy of the passport page.
-       Additionally, all coaches are asked to fill out the following survey.

As it relates to Other Swimming Canada championships (Speedo Eastern Canadian Open, Speedo Western Canadian Open, etc) as these is not a FINA recognized event but is a Swimming Canada club based event:
-       A letter confirming that they are a Recognized Team Support Staff person and are recognized by the respective FINA Member Federation.
-       A letter from the FINA Member Federation confirming that they are insured for both medical and liability under the Federation, the insurer name and policy number.
-       For VISA purposes, a copy of the passport page.
-       Additionally, all coaches are asked to fill out the following survey.
 
Important: The FINA Member federation is required to send all documents directly to Swimming Canada care of: Amanda Zevnik, Events Manager, at azevnik@swimming.ca.  Letters/scans must be emailed or faxed directly from the FINA approved Federation to Swimming Canada. Incomplete documentation or documentation sent by any other means will automatically be rejected.  Once all documents are received Swimming Canada will review the request and inform the FINA Member Federation.

The fee for foreign support staff credentials is $75 CAD per competition per staff member. Fees can be paid on site at the meet registration.

Foreign accredited support staff are not permitted to coach or work with any other athletes other than the ones that are registered from the FINA Member Federation.  Foreign accredited support staff may not work with members of Swimming Canada unless those Canadian swimmers are based outside of Canada with that staff member on a full-time training basis (e.g. a Canadian swimmer attending and training at a NCAA school may have their NCAA support staff work with them at the Competition)

The Deck Accreditation Card remains the property of Swimming Canada and can be withdrawn, with immediate effect, at Swimming Canada’s sole discretion. By using this Card, individuals agree to be filmed, televised, photographed, identified and otherwise recorded during the Swimming Canada Designated Competition under the conditions and for the purposes now and hereafter authorized by Swimming Canada in relations to the promotion of Swimming Canada and the development of the sport of swimming. The individual also agrees to information about themselves being collected by Swimming Canada and the Organizing Committee and such data being stored and used by them, and, where necessary, third parties, for the purposes of facilitating my participation in, and/or organizing the Swimming Canada Designated Competition
