Day of Caring 2016

Day of Caring, organized by United Way of East Central Iowa (UWECI) is a one-day service opportunity where over 1,300 volunteers from local company's complete projects for non-profit agencies and community partners. This year UWECI will be hosting the Day of Caring on Thursday, May 12. If your agency is thinking about participating in Day of Caring and submitting projects to be completed by volunteers, fill out the form below and sign up for a training.  We strongly encourage all agencies to attend one of the two trainings to ensure a successful volunteer project.

This year we will be providing two trainings to help agencies prepare for a successful Day of Caring. 

NEW Agency Lead training- this is for new agency project leads or those that would like to participate in a more detailed training about how Day of Caring works, agency responsibilities, brainstorm project ideas and learn how to use the new online system.  This training will be 1 hour long and UWECI staff will be available for 1:1 conversations afterward.

Experienced Agency Project Lead Training-this for project leads that have successfully lead the Day of Caring several times in the past. It will be a 30 minute training to focus on how the new online system works, how to add volunteer projects for Day of Caring and review project deadlines.
