Whitchurch Welfare Trust (WWT) is a charity in Whitchurch, Hampshire that helps relieve hardship in the town. We award grants to individuals or organisations who live, work or study in Whitchurch (RG28 7**) in need of financial help.
The first stage for applying for a grant is to complete this questionnaire and return it to Whitchurch Welfare Trust. You can do this by email (contact@whitchurchwelfaretrust.org.uk), by letter (WWT, c/o Town Hall, Newbury St., Whitchurch RG28 7DW) or through Citizens Advice, who will apply on your behalf.
Citizens Advice is open at Whitchurch Town Hall on Tuesday mornings. There are also branches in Andover and Basingstoke.
The purpose of the questionnaire is to help you think about how you might qualify for a grant and to help Whitchurch Welfare Trust make sure that any grants go to the right individuals and organisations.
There are seven types of grant we can award (outlined in the questionnaire below). Please note that the terms of our trust deed prohibit us from making grants for the sole purpose of paying taxes (such as Council Tax) and from making grants where funds could be obtained from public sources (such as benefits).
Whitchurch Welfare Trust will not award grants where the money could better be obtained elsewhere. It is a good idea to discuss your needs with Citizens Advice before applying in case there are more appropriate sources of funding for you.
