London Marathon Charity Place Full Terms and Conditions
Thank you for your interest in running the London Marathon for Kidney Wales. By applying for one of our charity places, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
1. Eligibility
Participants must be at least 18 years old on the day of the event.
Places are allocated at Kidney Wales' discretion, and we reserve the right to refuse applications.
2. Application Process
Submitting an application does not guarantee a place. If successful, you will be required to confirm your acceptance and pay a non-refundable registration fee of £50.
Your place is only secured once you have paid the registration fee of £50 and received confirmation from Kidney Wales.
We encourage all applicants to also enter the official London Marathon public ballot. If you are successful in gaining a ballot place, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can offer a charity place to another supporter.
3. Fundraising Commitment
Participants must commit to raising a minimum of £1,700 (excluding Gift Aid).
£850 of this total must be raised by the end of December 2026
Fundraising must be completed by the 31st of May which is five weeks after the event date.
All fundraising must be for Kidney Wales only and cannot be split with other charities.
Participants must keep in regular contact with Kidney Wales, respond to emails, and provide updates on their fundraising progress. Failure to respond to communications may result in the loss of your charity place.
4. Event Registration
You must complete the official London Marathon registration by the deadline set by Kidney Wales.
Failure to register within this timeframe may result in the loss of your place without a refund of any fees paid.
5. Withdrawal and Cancellation
No deferrals: Charity places cannot be deferred to the following year.
If you withdraw, you must notify Kidney Wales as soon as possible.
Funds raised will remain with Kidney Wales and cannot be refunded, even if you do not take part in the event. Donors requesting refunds must contact Kidney Wales directly, and refunds will be at our discretion.
Your registration fee is non-refundable.
6. Health and Safety
You confirm that you are medically fit to participate and understand that you take part at your own risk.
Kidney Wales is not responsible for any injury, illness, loss, or damage sustained as a result of participating in the event.
7. Fundraising Standards
You agree to comply with all fundraising laws and regulations.
You must not bring Kidney Wales into disrepute through your fundraising or participation in the event.
If hosting fundraising events, you must obtain any necessary permissions or licenses (e.g., for raffles, public collections).
8. Use of Image and Publicity
By participating, you consent to Kidney Wales using your name, images, and any quotes for promotional purposes unless you notify us otherwise.
9. Data Protection
Kidney Wales will store and use your personal data in accordance with data protection laws.
Your details will be used to communicate with you about the event and your fundraising.

By applying for a London Marathon charity place with Kidney Wales, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms and conditions.
