Livonia Vision, Goals, & Priorities Survey

INTRODUCTION

The Town and Village of Livonia are updating their Comprehensive Plan, which will help guide decisions about land use, housing, transportation, economic development, natural resources, recreation, infrastructure, and community services over the coming years.

A draft vision, goals, objectives, and potential actions have been developed based on community input and planning work completed to date. This survey is intended to help us understand:
  • whether the draft vision and goals reflect the community's desired future;
  • what actions are of priority to the community; and
  • what land use issues and opportunities should be explored during the next phase of the planning process.
DRAFT Vision Statement

The Livonia community will manage land use change through clear and effective regulations that direct growth to the Village and hamlets, protect and enhance the traditional built pattern of these places, and balance farmland and open space protection with rural economic development. Town and Village policies and investments will increase the safety, comfort, and efficiency of walking and bicycling throughout the town, especially within and between the Village and hamlets. The Town and Village will have responsive, collaborative governments that work in partnership with Livingston County and NYS agencies to achieve shared goals.
