Please help the City of Leominster update our Open Space and Recreation Plan (OSRP) by participating in this important survey. A state-approved updated plan is necessary to qualify for state funding for acquisition and protection of open space and recreational facilities. This survey is being conducted to understand the needs and concerns of Leominster's organizations regarding the city's open space and recreation facilities. The OSRP was last updated in 2014, and many of the action items from that plan have been completed.

Open Space in this survey is defined as public and privately-owned undeveloped lands which are important for a variety of reasons, including habitat for wildlife, water resource protection, passive recreation, agriculture, forestry, or simply because of their scenic qualities and their contribution to the overall rural character of the city. The terms recreational facilities or recreation refer to land used for active recreational purposes, such as athletic fields, parks, courts, or golf courses. Passive recreation refers to non-consumptive uses such as wildlife observation, walking along Leominster's wooded trails, biking along our scenic roadways, and canoeing or kayaking one of our waterways. Open space and recreational planning will help us preserve open space while allowing development to occur that is consistent with the character of Leominster.

Please take a few minutes to answer the following survey questions. Responses to this survey will be compiled and used to develop an Action Plan to improve Open Space and Recreation Facilities in Leominster.
