Together we can shape policy that improves the well-being of the elders we serve...

On June 12th, the LeadingAge Public Policy committee will meet and discuss potential issues to advocate for on the state level in the next legislative session. Good public policy is built on needs of the individuals we serve. So think about the challenges that you feel elders are experiencing and make some suggestions for advocacy on the state level that could improve the conditions. For example, a challenge could be that nursing homes are understaffed given the acuity levels of the elders they serve. A potential advocacy solution could be to seek increased funding to pay for increases in staffing in Medicaid funded nursing homes. Good public policy also includes working with state agencies to make changes to policies and regulations. So in the last section of the survey, please list issues you feel we should address with state agencies. For example, improve transportation for adult day centers.
