About Lazy Day Rafts
According to Trip Advisor, Lazy Day is Calgary’s #1 Outdoor Activity for the last seven years.  In 2020, 2021 and 2022 we won TripAdvisor's “Certificate of Excellence”, which is awarded to the top 10% of tour companies worldwide. At Lazy Day we recognize that our staff are the most important factor in providing the best experience to our guests and achieving these awards. Good employees can make an otherwise bad trip a good trip, and they can make an otherwise OK trip an excellent one.

Floating with Lazy Day is a social event as much as it is a rafting adventure, and our staff are the catalysts that make the event what it is. Our staff set the tone. We only want to hire the best.

We offer raft rentals from May to September and are looking to fill a variety of positions.  Shifts are scheduled in advance and may change at the last minute as we are 100% dependent on the weather and the number of bookings we have. Depending on the roles shifts can start as early as 5 AM, while other shifts may end at 11 PM (or later) depending on our guests' requirements.

Expectations
We want our staff to have a great time at work and we will do our best to make the environment fun and relaxed. Having said that, there are a few aspects that are mandatory without exception:

  • Superior guest relations: Regardless of position, you will be interacting with our guests. All guests need to be dealt with in a professional, enthusiastic manner.
  • Safety: The safety and well-being of our staff and guests are paramount. Educating guests about safety is essential, as is adherence to safety protocol.
  • Work ethic: Have a strong work ethic, sense of responsibility, honesty, and a sense of adventure.
  • Team player: All roles at Lazy Day are team-based; therefore, possessing the ability to work with and get along with colleagues is required.
  • Physical endurance: All roles have some component of physical labour, so having strength and endurance is an asset. The ability to stand for long periods, bend, move, and lift rafts repetitively is required.
  • Covid protocols: You’ll need to be responsible for adhering to mandated Covid protocols and be diligent with personal, guest, and equipment sanitation.
The bottom line
To be successful and happy in this role, you really have to LOVE engaging with guests (even the miserable ones!), working as a team, and being outside. If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you!
