SECTION 1: Basic Information
Training Description: This interactive 2-session training focuses on the relationship between health literacy, language, and culture and the attributes of health literate, culturally effective workplaces and practices. Participants will consider the different communities they serve and how to bridge an understanding about health and the health care system. We will identify tools and resources to promote access to health information and improve health literacy. Participants will have an opportunity to practice new strategies, apply them in their work, report back to receive feedback, and plan how to incorporate new skills into their work and careers as community health workers.
