In 2013 SOBA established the Lacy E. “Nick” Nichols Education Fund in memory of Nick. Nick was a leader and promoter of boating access serving SOBA’s membership in a variety of capacities from board member, to active participant on various SOBA task forces and committees, and as an engaging speaker and presenter at many annual conferences.
The Education Fund is designed to help members attend SOBA’s National Boating Access Conference by providing the non-federal matching funds up to $500 associated with a Boating Access, Clean Vessel Act or Boating Infrastructure Grant.
Applications must be received by May 31st. Successful applicants will be notified by June 15th.
