Disclaimer

This 3-day in person digital storytelling workshop is taking place in San Francisco on Oct 17-19, 2023.

Through this workshop we aim to create a platform for people from historically marginalized communities to share their stories and bring to light the relationship between their lived experiences, their intersectional identities, and how they’ve navigated HIV/STI systems of care and prevention - both as service providers and/or seekers.

The stories told will create opportunities to educate, inform and foster dialogue between healthcare providers and community members in order to improve HIV/STI prevention, care, and access.

For this purpose, the videos produced may be shown to/at:
  • Public health professionals who work or collaborate with the San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH).
  • Health educators and professionals who work in the field of HIV/STIs prevention and care or who are recipients of Technical Assistance and trainings offered by SFDPH.
  • Other potential public health forums such as health institutes or sessions at sexual health conferences, etc.
  • Members of the public through social media websites (YouTube), promotion campaigns, etc.
Applicants who are eager to support their communities or peers by sharing their lived experiences are particularly encouraged to apply.

Please be advised that, due to the introspective nature of this workshop, it is not suitable for individuals who are in crisis or actively experiencing PTSD symptoms.
