Evidence-based treatment for suicidality (suicidal thoughts and/or behaviours) has changed a lot. So, you may not have had a chance to learn about the latest elements of best practice. This self-assessment tool aims to help you reflect on how your practice aligns with the latest evidence for treatment of suicidal people. You may find areas you are already doing well, and other areas where you can make changes to ensure you are aligned with best practice.

Completing the self-assessment
To help make sure you understand each component being assessed, we will give you a:
- Brief description of each component
- Link to examples & resources
- Details of the evidence behind each component

Please identify 3 people you have treated where suicidality was a key feature of their presentation. Please review and refer to their files when completing the self-assessment.

This survey should take approximately 20-30 mins in total, with the first file taking the longest.

Remember these core components are emerging so it would be expected that we will all have areas to improve. By completing this tool you are taking the first step to doing so.

Sharing your learnings
This tool is completely anonymous. Data from your self-assessment will be pooled with everyone's responses to ensure it is completely de-identified. The Collaborative will use the pooled results to inform what areas to emphasise in the local training.
