CRITERIA
To be eligible for consideration, nominated individuals must be currently employed by a member of ASA's Women in Industry Division. Wholesalers, manufacturers, manufacturer's reps, master distributors and service vendors are eligible to receive the award. Individuals on the Women in Industry Advisory Group & Nominating Committee are ineligible to receive the award. 

The woman being considered for the award should have a record of significant accomplishment/recognition in the PHCP/PVF industry and embody the character of the late Alice Martin, including, but not limited to:
  • Understanding the importance of inventive ideas, education, competent decision-making, mentoring and community service
  • A history of promoting women in the industry and participating in the division's activities
  • Recognized for significant contributions in her field or community that’s led to change and/or innovation
  • Shaped a legacy by inspiring others through her work and example, and is a bold leader that others emulate
Special consideration may be made by the Alice Martin Woman of the Year Nominating Committee for nominations of individuals formerly employed by a past or current member of ASA's Women in Industry Division who fit all other criteria stated.

NOMINATION PROCESS
The division will solicit nominations from the ASA membership and nominations will be accepted from anyone within an ASA member company in good standing. The Alice Martin Woman of the Year Nominating Committee shall review all submissions and recommend nominees for consideration, as they see fit, to the Women in Industry Advisory Group who will make all final decisions. Nominations are only valid for the year in which the award is being presented.

NOMINATING COMMITTEE

The Alice Martin Woman of the Year Nominating Committee will be determined by and composed of members of the ASA Women in Industry Advisory Group. The Nominating Committee shall review all nominations and recommend nominees (majority rules) to the Women in Industry Advisory Group for consideration and final decision (majority rules). The Women in Industry Advisory Group will ultimately be responsible for deciding when to bestow the award.

FREQUENCY
The Alice Martin Woman of the Year Award will be presented no more than once a year, typically during the ELEVATE Conference held in the spring.


About Alice Martin: Alice Martin had been with NIBCO since 1984, serving in a variety of roles, including Chief Revenue Officer, Board of Directors member, Vice Chairman of the Board, Lead Director of the Board and Chief People Officer. Alice served as the President and Co-Founder of the Rex and Alice A. Martin Foundation, a charitable foundation headquartered in Elkhart, Indiana, which donates to major projects for children. She has served on over 30 local, regional, and state charitable Boards of Directors and has been honored many times for her leadership and philanthropy. A champion of women's rights, Alice also founded the Women's Leadership Group at NIBCO, and was active in the ASA Women in Industry Division from its inception.
