The California Department of Parks and Recreation’s Office of Grants and Local Services (OGALS) invites you to a technical assistance workshop to learn about:
  • California’s 2015 Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (SCORP) -  OGALS will demonstrate how participants can use new GIS mapping tools and generate reports about park access in their communities, discuss statewide park priorities, and solicit participant feedback about local park and recreation needs.
  • Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) Grant Application Requirements – OGALS will explain the competitive application requirements and answer questions about the application process.  Grant requests for up to $2 million per application are encouraged.  Applications must be postmarked by Wednesday, February 3, 2016.
Participants are encouraged to bring their Wi-Fi enabled laptops or tablets to access the new GIS tools and LWCF application materials electronically.  A limited number of hard-copy documents will be available.
