Community Service

This committee develops projects for the club membership to participate that will benefit the community and collaborates with area nonprofits. Projects align with Rotary International’s seven focus areas: Peace Building and Conflict Prevention; Basic Education & Literacy; Disease Prevention & Treatment; Water Sanitation & Hygiene; Community Economic Development; Maternal & Child Health; and Supporting Environment.

Question Title

Community Service Projects. Meets monthly and participates in monthly service projects.

Kingdom For Kids. Volunteer at our club’s signature community project building our 30th playground at YWCA, November 14 & 15.

Rotary Day SA, a citywide event to be held in Spring 2026

Snack Pack 4 Kids, weekly distribution of food for at-risk youth. Meets weekly. Serving MLK at Gates and Oak Grove Elementary.

Youth Service

Youth Services engages with young people to support Rotary’s programs to build leadership skills and acts as a liaison between Rotary and area schools. Activities during academic year.

Interact Clubs – Liaison with Rotary Clubs at Providence and Sam Houston High School to support club activities and service projects

Rotaract Clubs – Liaison with Rotary Clubs at Trinity University or UTSA

RYLA – Rotary Youth Leadership Awards program is held in the January 2026 for high school juniors to support leadership training and character development.

Diploma Plus Scholarships – Review and select students for scholarships for high school juniors. Concentration during July-September to evaluate application process and March to review applications.

Scholarship Recognition Reception – Assist with coordinating scholarship honor reception in September.

International Service

The International Services committee identifies opportunities to support international service projects promoting Rotary’s mission of peace and humanitarian support worldwide.

Question Title

Seeds of Hope – Support joint initiative with Trinity University, UTSA and St. Phillips with a curriculum advancing world peace with a cohort of university students. Concentration during academic year.

International Affairs – Responsible for identifying and supporting international service projects, including humanitarian projects and partnerships with other Rotary Clubs and organizations.

Rotary International Foundation – Promote support among club members for the Rotary International Foundation to raise awareness of the impact of RI grants. Year-round.

Membership Committee

The membership committee is dedicated to the full breadth of member services from recruiting, engaging, and retaining members. Select from one of the following committees to be part of providing the best possible member experience for our club.

Admissions: Reviews and approves membership proposals. Meets at least monthly and participates year-round.

Recruitment: Assists with meeting club’s membership goals through member development initiatives including prospective member events and following up on new member prospects. Meets monthly and participates year-round.

Engagement: This team is responsible for encouraging new members to participate in the club and become active Rotarians. Meets monthly and participates year-round.

Retention: Works with existing members to support active involvement in the club and follows up after renewal to identify opportunities for participation.

Re-Engagement: Focuses on inviting past members to rejoin the club.

Sergeant-At-Arms Team

The Sergeant-At-Arms Team is responsible for the coordination of the weekly meetings, including guest and member check-in, greeters, room setup, guest introductions. All committees have year-round responsibilities with signup for dates available to serve provided in advance and rotated among group members.

Greeters/Hospitality: Provide a warm welcome for all members and guests and help guide entrants as needed to the luncheon.

Guest Registration: Responsible for checking in guests at the entrance and introducing guests at the podium at weekly meetings.

Member Check-In: Responsible for checking in members and confirming reservations at weekly meetings.

History: Reviews club records and organizing materials of significant importance. Assists in planning for major milestones and raising awareness of club history.

Communications/Brand Image Committee

The Communications and Branding Committee is responsible for maintaining a positive public image for Rotary Club of San Antonio and ensure compliance with Rotary International guidelines. Experience in marketing or communications helpful to support this committee and meets monthly with year-round responsibilities.

Program Committee

The Programs Committee is responsible for planning and coordinating the content of club meetings and special events.

Social Activities – meets monthly to organize and plan activities for members and their families for fellowship outside weekly meetings.

Fundraising Committee

The Fundraising Committee plays a vital role in ensuring the financial health of the club and supports its community projects, including the planning and coordination of fundraising events and sponsor/donor relations.

Participate in Rotary Club of San Antonio fundraising committees and help develop new initiatives to support community projects. Meets monthly and works year-round.

U40 Young Members Group

The U40 group creates social, networking and professional development opportunities to help engage our club’s young professionals’ group. Limited to members under age 40.

Mentorship – Participate as a mentor for a young professional interested in engaging with a seasoned Rotarian to share experiences and enhance member growth.
