Kronos Quartet 50 for the Future Masterclass: Saturday, April 15, 2023, 2pm Eastern on Zoom ACTIVE PARTICIPANT SIGN-UP SHEET |
Sign up your ensemble as an active participant for the Kronos Quartet's online masterclass on Saturday, April 15, 2023 from 2pm to 5pm Eastern (with a 1pm soundcheck)
NOTE: Only one ensemble member should fill out this survey on behalf of the group. ACMP will choose 3 ensembles to participate in the class.
Repertoire: Choose any piece from the Kronos Quartet's free online library "50 for the Future" other than the ones which have already been played in November, by Ken Benshoof, Missy MazzoliI and Charlton Singleton, or the piece by Angelique Kidjo which has already been chosen by a group for the April class. If your group is selected but another group already chose that piece, we will ask you to choose another.
Please consult this article on the ACMP website for a shortlist of recommended pieces that are not too difficult.
The class is open to serious (and adventurous!) adult amateur ensembles who want to rehearse in advance of the master class and be prepared to work with the Kronos Quartet on the finer details of ensemble playing and interpretation of some of the new works written for Kronos as part of their 50 for the Future project. The class will take place on Zoom - and ensembles will be expected to play together in the same room, ideally with some decent sound equipment (if possible) for optimum sound quality and listener enjoyment.
