Dear Educator,

The Economic Education department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, Charlotte Branch is currently seeking high school teachers in the North and South Carolina to be part of our Teacher Collaborative Committee. The Committee will:

     ·   provide meaningful feedback that can inform and influence economic and financial education resources and programs,
     ·   apply knowledge and skills to design and develop a classroom resource, 
     ·   promote Economic Education resources and programs and share information with colleagues and students, and
     ·   discuss best practices among educators.

 Volunteers will serve a one year term and are expected to:

     ·   attend five meetings held at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, Charlotte Branch.
             ·   July 30, 2019 at 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
             ·   December 3, 2019 at 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. and
             ·   March 4, 2020 at 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. 
     ·   collect feedback from students on Richmond Fed educational resources,
     ·   complete surveys on Richmond Fed teaching resources, and
     ·   share Federal Reserve System educational resources with colleagues.

Committee members will be recognized for their work on resources and awarded a certificate of participation. Pending local approval, teachers may earn recertification points towards an educational project. It is the member's responsibility to obtain any necessary supervisor approval to participate. The committee will include high school teachers with varying levels of teaching experience who show an interest or aptitude at being an instructional leader.

Applications will be accepted from teachers who are currently teaching economics or personal finance standards at a public or private high school. We are seeking teachers from the NC and SC counties that surround Charlotte, NC who can attend all meetings at our Charlotte location. Please be aware that participation on the Committee is voluntary and unpaid, including no reimbursement for travel expenses. If you are a dynamic educator, willing and ready to contribute meaningful feedback to the Economic Education team, please complete this application by May 20, 2019. You will receive notification by June 1, 2019 if your application has been accepted. If accepted you are expected to attend the first Teacher Collaborative Committee meeting, held at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond on July 30, 2019 from 10am-2pm.
