The British Academy has been raising concerns about the impact of the implementation of the RCUK's open access policy for a number of months. We continue to engage with RCUK and other organisations on these issues and would appreciate some further information from learned societies and subject associations to help us with this work.

One major concern expressed by a large number of people and organisations is the impact on learned societies and subject associations activities such as PG fellowships, conference support, postdoctoral positions and project grants.

This survey is designed to help us understand the proportion of income learned societies and subject associations derive from publishing journals, and the ways in which that income is used to support other activities.

All answers will be treated confidentially, but we will use anonymised results to inform our work in this area.

If you have any questions, please contact Alan Palmer on or 020 7969 5313.

We thank you for your cooperation.
