Each year thousands of people call our office for civil legal help. Our Program only learns of a fraction of the issues facing the community. We are asking for your help to identify the most pressing legal needs of low-income and elderly residents of North Dakota. 

The results of the this survey will help our Program spot trends and plan for us to best use our limited resources.

* 5. HOUSING PROBLEMS, such as eviction defense, foreclosure prevention, bad housing conditions, condominium disputes, mobile homes, housing affordability, housing discrimination, and subsidy denials and terminations.

* 6. VETERANS PROBLEMS, such as Veterans' Benefits, homelessness, domestic relations, employment, healthcare, mental healthcare, and discharge upgrades.

ELDER LAW PROBLEMS, such as elder financial abuse, elder physical and emotional abuse, elder access to health care (including nursing home disputes), legal problems associated with behaviors traceable to medical conditions such as Alzheimer’s Disease, disability, guardianships of adults, and housing accessibility.

* 11. IMMIGRATION PROBLEMS, such as naturalization, deportation, human trafficking, and immigrant victims of domestic violence.

* 12. MIGRANT FARM WORKERS, such as immigration, housing, employment, health and safety, public benefits, and language access.

* 13. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROBLEMS, such as needing the assistance in the formation of community groups, tenant organizations, and non-profit organizations focused on the needs of low-income and elderly people.

* 14. NATIVE AMERICAN, such as AIPRA wills and estates, domestic violence, government benefits, divorce, custody and visitation, taxes, housing, consumer, juvenile deprivation, health and safety, individual rights, and elder issues.
