Introduction - The Survey
Accessible housing matters for all communities, but it is especially important in First Nations communities, where accessibility may sometimes be overlooked or underprioritized, and where there is a strong desire to meet accessibility needs and create safe, inclusive homes.
Indigenous Disability Canada (IDC), through their "Accessible Housing - Inclusive First Nations" project, is conducting research to better understand accessibility and housing needs in First Nations communities. This survey focuses on accessible housing, community accessibility, and opportunities for future engagement.
This survey is part of a broader project aimed at helping interested parties better understand current housing conditions in First Nations communities, identify best practices and community-led initiatives, and gather recommendations to help inform future accessibility standards in a way that reflects community priorities and experiences.
Participation is voluntary. Your responses will be kept confidential and used only to inform research, reporting, and advocacy related to accessible housing in First Nations communities.
