Self Advocates Becoming Empowered has a new mini grant project called Local Health and Vaccine Information Outreach. Our goal is to get information to our members about health and vaccines that will keep us healthy.
We would like to invite your group or organization to apply for a mini-grant for a Local Health and Vaccine Information Outreach Project for your state. During this project, you will decide what questions your health and vaccine information will answer or cover.

What tools will your Project create for health and vaccine outreach information that people need and can use? This can include:
- Develop a training PowerPoint presentation
- Make a 2 to 4 page fact sheet
- Videos with 1 topic each, created with open captions
- Social media messages
- Graphics or picture art that explains health or vaccine information
These are going to go on the selfadvocacyinfo.org or which SABE SARTAC
This project will increase local vaccine outreach activities in the disability community across the lifespan. You will answer questions about how you will reach the diverse members of your community. We will focus on families, caregivers, and direct support providers or DSPs for older adults and persons with intellectual, developmental, and cognitive disabilities.
You will develop and share health education materials in Plain Language and Easy Read, and in other languages spoken in your community.
You and your partners will conduct local grassroots activities to build on COVID-19 vaccine outreach work from our project partners at Autistic Self Advocacy Network or ASAN who will create handouts for states to use to promote other CDC-recommended vaccines and health education. We want to make sure people with disabilities are getting the facts about the health and vaccine information in your state.
Projects will have the opportunity to share the information they created with our Connect Self Advocates to SABE’s SARTAC Project National Self Advocacy Zoom Sessions.
