Are deer birth timings changing?

The British Deer Society is collecting records to help build a clearer understanding of deer birth timing in the UK. Over time, this may help identify whether deer are being born earlier or later in the year than expected.

This is a citizen science survey, all records are valuable and help contribute to the dataset.

Please report sightings of newly born (less than one week old) deer between March and the end of October.

For welfare reasons, please observe from a distance and do not approach or disturb deer.
