PSAC members in good standing that identify as women of African descent are invited and encouraged to take part in this survey. This survey aims to uncover issues of racial discrimination against women in the workplace and in our union. All responses are anonymous. Responding to any question is voluntary. Systemic Racism is the institutionalization of discrimination through policies and practices which may appear neutral on the surface but have an exclusionary impact on particular groups. This occurs in institutions and organizations, including the government, where the policies, practices, and procedures (e.g. employment systems – job requirements, hiring practices, promotion procedures, etc.) exclude and/or act as barriers to racialized groups.
