Participant Information

You are invited to take part in a survey investigating the frequency of occupational burnout and the workplace factors associated with it among practising intensivists in Australia and New Zealand.

The role of ANZICS is to advocate for intensive care throughout Australia and New Zealand. The society is concerned about the well-being of its members and their ability to provide safe and effective patient care. This study aims to improve the understanding of the variables that might contribute to the development of burnout in this population. This information will inform future advocacy endeavors and provide evidence to
support frameworks and policies addressing the problem of burnout in the medical workforce.
You do not need to be an ANZICS member in order to participate. Participation involves completing an online questionnaire, which takes an estimated 10 minutes to complete. Participation in this project is entirely voluntary and you are free to withdraw without penalty. The information you supply is not identifiable once it is submitted. The data collected is anonymous and will be sought solely from you. There will be no information collected via a third party.

If you would like more information regarding the project, or would like to request a copy of the participant information sheet, please contact the principal investigator, Dr. Shona Mair (s.mair1@uq.edu.au).
