Question Title

* 1. Candidate for President-Elect (2019-2020): Erin Rowley

Erin
began her career as a librarian more than 9 years ago, after earning her MLS from the University at Buffalo, as an Information Specialist at Bureau Veritas Consumer Product Services (BVCPS), a consumer products testing laboratory with its North American headquarters in Buffalo, NY. At BVCPS she worked alongside engineers and technicians to research international consumer product testing requirements. After more than 8 years at BVCPS, and eventually working her way up to Supervisor of the Information Resources Center, Erin made the switch to academia. Erin joined the University Libraries at the University at Buffalo in November 2017 as the Engineering Librarian. In August 2018 she was promoted to Head of Science and Engineering Library Services. Working with faculty, staff, and students at UB has been a truly rewarding experience for Erin, as she has always been an advocate for education, research, and innovation. Always willing to lend a hand and step up when needed, Erin also serves as Co-President of the Parent Teachers Association (PTA) at her daughter’s school on Grand Island, NY. Erin has always felt SLA, especially UNYSLA, has been a wonderful group of professionals to learn from and lean on for support. And the UNYSLA conferences have always provided her with exceptional guidance and inspiration. She is excited to be involved in UNYSLA in any capacity, not only now, but for the duration of her career.
