Scotland's International Development Alliance: Member Survey

Introduction to our survey

Scotland’s International Development Alliance are developing two new papers to champion inclusive global sustainable development in Scotland:

> A policy paper looking at “Building a just world”: developing a Scottish vision for ‘shifting the power’ and championing anti-racist, feminist and decolonial approaches within international development and global affairs. This builds on our 2023 Annual Survey which identified power shifting as particularly relevant to Alliance members. The paper will make a set of recommendations to the Scottish and UK governments, and will be used to inform advocacy work around upcoming elections. This piece of work is being led by Kate Nevens and Iffat Shahnaz from the intersectional feminist facilitation and research consultancy the collective

> A report on the Sustainable Development Goals: As we approach the midpoint of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the Alliance plan to use the opportunity to showcase the  work of our members in progressing the SDGs; increase support for the sector amongst decision-makers and funders; and generally try to increase enthusiasm for implementing the SDGs in Scotland and across the world.

To inform this work and to ensure diverse voices and perspectives are heard and incorporated into our analysis and recommendations, we are seeking  your input on these topics through the following survey. The responses to this survey will be used to help us develop the two papers and decide areas of focus.

The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. If some of the language is new to you, don’t worry at all - just answer according to what it means to you!  This is also an opportunity to reflect on work to date, offer insights and feed into a wider vision on the work of The Alliance membership and wider stakeholders.

We will not name any individuals or organisations in the reports unless we have explicit written permission or you request that we do so.  We will not share respondents details and data with any third parties beyond the Alliance and the collective. Organisational data will be added to your member record on the Alliance membership database and held in line with our GDPR policy.

The collective will delete all data collected on SurveyMonkey within 3 months of project completion, or by 1 February 2024, whichever is soonest. You may also request that we delete your response at any time.

There will also be further opportunities to engage with us on these topics through a series of focus group sessions and action planning workshops in the Autumn 2023!
