Libraries Illuminated is a grant program supporting local uses of increased broadband capacity at public libraries. Limited state funds are available to support extra costs associated with Libraries Illuminated projects at participating libraries. If your library's project spurred a need for additional costs, such as equipment purchases, or ran over budget in ways that limited the effectiveness of the program, consider applying for additional funds. Funds are not intended to support staffing. Funds will be allocated according to the pool of requests.
We strongly encourage your library system to contact the grant monitor, Bev Schwartzberg (beverly.schwartzberg@library.ca.gov) to discuss your proposal and provide feedback on the amount of the request before submission of the request. Applications are due by 5 p.m. on Monday, November 19, 2018.
