The rising prevalence of osteoporosis and metabolic bone disease, along with increasing spine surgeries, makes preoperative bone health assessment crucial for preventing complications and ensuring optimal outcomes. Enhancing diagnosis and management of poor bone health before surgery is essential.
Purpose:
This survey aims to understand how spine surgeons and specialists assess bone health and to identify challenges in optimization. With this information, the Task Force will develop solutions to the common challenges.
