Harrietville: Our Future |
These questions are for us to gather feedback on the draft Harrietville: Our Future. Draft Strategic Master Plan.
Harrietville: Our Future has been developed from input from the Harrietville community across nine community discussion sessions and the community survey. Over four half-day sessions the Harrietville Community Forum, with input from representatives from Alpine Shire Council, Department of Environment Land Water and Planning, and Parks Victoria, discussed and analysed the priorities and ideas put forward by the community and how they could contribute to strengthening the community and improving community sustainability.
The result is Harrietville: Our Future, which presents a definition for resilience and sustainability as it applies to Harrietville and a 'vision' for the town. Ten strategic themes break down the vision into actions that can be done by either the Harrietville Community Forum or the other three agencies involved. Each action is something that is achievable, works towards building resilience and sustainability, and can be delivered by the groups that have been contributed to the project.
The tables presented in Appendix One present the actions according to the organisations responsible. They also present the actions in order of priority. Priorities were assessed based on how significantly the action contributes to resilience and sustainability and how prevalent it was in community discussions.
