The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) would like your input in developing Pacific halibut season dates for 2018.  While the 2018 California quota has yet to be determined, it is expected to be 30,940 pounds, approximately 3,600 pounds less than the 2017 quota.

In 2017, the fishery was open from May 1-June 15, July 1-15, August 1-15, and September 1-10.  The fishery closed September 11 due to projected attainment of the California quota.

Please take a couple minutes to choose which of the proposed season dates best meets your preferences.  Thank you for your input.
