SHINE SA recognises that same sex attraction, intersex and gender diversity are unique experiences that differ greatly. However, we also acknowledge that for some, they are not mutually exclusive and that people define their sex, sexuality and gender in many different ways, which can change over a person’s lifetime. While some people may identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, pansexual, transgender, intersex, queer or same sex attracted, other people will use a range of other terms as part of their identity or none at all.
