Gender Justice Network Application
Legal Action Worldwide (LAW) uses creative legal strategies to increase access to justice for women and girls, and those who have been subjected to sexual and gender-based violence. These strategies are implemented through a combination of legal aid and empowerment, strategic litigation, and targeted legal advocacy. In 2018, Legal Action opened an office in Beirut and is now providing legal assistance and representation from Beirut.
LAW will advance access to justice by supporting victims and survivors to access legal services and lodge complaints, monitoring their experiences with the judiciary, and highlighting successes and inadequacies, by building the capacities of legal aid providers to use a survivor-centered approach and initiating a network of gender sensitive lawyers (the Gender Justice Network).
What is Gender Justice Network?
This network/committee is composed of Lebanese lawyers who join the network as volunteers with the objective of empowering indigent victims and survivors of sexual and gender-based violence to access justice. LAW will select 15 lawyers registered at the Beirut Bar Association to participate in two trainings to enhance their capacities in survivor-centered justice, international best practices relevant to Lebanon, and gender issues in accordance with international human rights law. After a while, the trained lawyers will share with Legal Action their experience during their day to day work at the courts and how they put the experiences gained during the trainings into practice regarding issues related to gender-based violence.
Selection Criteria:
> The lawyer must be a qualified lawyer and registered at the Beirut Bar Association.
> The lawyer must have at least 5 years of experience.
> The lawyers must have priorly worked on cases of Gender-Based Violence.

ما هي شبكة عدالة النوع الاجتماعي؟

تتألف هذه الشبكة/اللجنة من محامين لبنانيين ينضمون الى الشبكة بصفة متطوعين بهدف تمكين الضحايا والناجين/يات من العنف الجنسي و العنف القائم على النوع الاجتماعي من الوصول إلى العدالة. ستختار جمعية الحركة القانونية 15 محام/محامية مسجلين في نقابة المحامين في بيروت للمشاركة بتدريبين لتعزيز قدراتهم في مجال العدالة التي تركز على الناجين/الناجيات ، وأفضل الممارسات الدولية ذات الصلة بلبنان، وقضايا النوع الاجتماعي وفقًا للقانون الدولي لحقوق الإنسان. بعد فترة, سيشارك المحامون المتدربون مع الحركة القانونية تجربتهم خلال عملهم اليومي في المحاكم و كيف وضعوا الخبرات التي اكتسبوها خلال التدريبات في الإطار .العملي فيما يتعلق بالقضايا المتعلقة بالعنف القائم على النوع الاجتماع.
معيار الاختيار:
> يجب أن يكون المحامي محاميا مؤهلا ومسجلا في نقابة المحامين في بيروت.
> يجب أن يكون لدى المحامي خبرة لا تقل عن 5 سنوات.
> يجب أن يكون المحامون قد عملوا مسبقًا في قضايا العنف القائم على النوع الاجتماعي.
> يجب أن يكون لدى المحامي خبرة لا تقل عن 5 سنوات.
