St. Luke's Survey on Connecting during These Times (rev)
Here we are in another round of isolation in pandemic. We would like to ask you what your preferences are for connecting during this time when even distanced congregating is not do-able. As usual, virtual Lectio Davino is happening on Wednesday mornings. We can also, if there's interest, convene virtual Centering Prayer, and virtual Story telling and Social Hour, or other?
About Centering Prayer:
Centering Prayer is a form of Christian meditation in which participants strive in silence for 20 minutes at a time to shut out all mundane everyday thoughts that fill their minds in order to make space for God to move into the space thus vacated. This can be combined, at the participants’ choice, with a video on a Christian topic, lectio divina or recitation of spiritual verse or playing of spiritual music.
About Social and Story Time:
We'll meet over zoom at the same time each week. Each gathering will start with a 10-20 minute story telling chat featuring one person and an interviewer, with others invited to pop in with their questions too. Then it will be followed by 25-40 min of informal exchange. The story teller can address whatever they like.. but here are a few ideas for prompts to stoke your stories:
- Your History - turning points in your life- where have you visited- happiest time in your life- animals in your life (pets, hunting, adversaries)- who's your hero/heroine? why? - You and St. Luke's- your involvement in St. Luke's over the years (how did you come and what's happened in terms of your involvement over the years)- St. Luke's history you want newbies to know - What you See Now- what are you enchanted with right now? (thinking about, inspired by etc) - if a young person were to ask you what's life for, how would you answer that?- what's a source of inspiration for you right now? - do you have a favourite source of inspiration that you'd like to share?
