Alpine Shire Council
Kindergarten Central Enrolment Scheme | Survey Closes 10 October, 2019
Alpine Shire Council received funding from State Government to explore a Central Enrolment Scheme (CE Scheme) for kindergartens within the Shire.
The initiative is a direct result of the State Government’s Early Childhood Reform Plan where Kindergarten Central Enrolment is expanding to a greater number of local government areas (LGA's) and funded kindergarten programs across Victoria. The state’s end goal is to have all LGA’s and funded kindergarten programs participating in Central Enrolment.
The aim is to ensure all families (including eligible Early Start Kindergarten children) are identified early, proactively engaged and enrolled in high quality funded kindergarten programs, through direct linkages with Maternal and Child Health (MCH) services, Early Childhood Services and other innovative engagement strategies.
Variations of this scheme are currently in practise with over 50% of Councils adopting the initiative throughout Victoria. It is designed to simplify the registration process, help Councils understand kindergarten building needs and make sure that all children across the Shire (including vulnerable children) can access kindergarten.
One model explored requires families to complete an online application providing contact information and an indication of their preferred kinder.
Your valuable input is needed ensuring we implement the right enrolment tool for our community. Please complete the following survey providing your thoughts and ideas.
