Port Hueneme General Plan Update: Climate Action Plan Element Questionnaire

The City of Port Hueneme has put this questionnaire together in collaboration with Rincon Consultants, Inc. to gather feedback on proposed greenhouse gas reduction strategies to be included in the Climate Action Plan Element of the General Plan Update. The purpose of the Climate Action Plan Element is to:

- reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the City

- reduce environmental pollution (like improved air quality)

- help reduce impacts of climate change (like sea level rise)

- improve environmental quality (more trees and protection of natural areas)

- improve transportation system (more alternatives to driving your own personal car)

- improve public health

The City is considering 11 strategies to include in the Climate Action Plan Element aimed at reducing emissions throughout the community, which are the basis of this questionnaire. These strategies were outlined in the Community Workshop on March 30, 2021 and are posted on the City’s General Plan website. Each strategy will have several action items associated with it that incrementally support the strategies to reach the end goal of reducing future greenhouse gas emissions. Some of the language of the strategies has been edited for length.

This questionnaire is for you to help the City determine which climate action strategies the City should prioritize in the next 5 to 10 years and provide additional insight.

It is estimated that the questionnaire should take about 5 - 20 minutes. We appreciate your time and feedback and will incorporate the questionnaire results into the Climate Action Plan Element, as applicable.
